OAAOM Mission Statement

The Ohio Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is dedicated to maintaining the integrity of the philosophy, science, and art of acupuncture and Oriental medicine.


OAAOM Vision Statement

OAAOM will strive to:

Ensure high standards for the competent and ethical practice of acupuncture and Oriental medicine.

Raise the profile of acupuncture and Oriental medicine and promote it as a viable treatment. This will be accomplished by way of educating the public, other health professionals, state regulators, and legislators regarding the benefits and safety of acupuncture and Oriental medicine.

Support the use of acupuncture in integrative and conventional medical facilities.

Support inclusion of acupuncture into third party re-imbursement plans.

Maintain standards of educational and professional competency by providing quality continuing education for acupuncturists in the form of NCCAOM approved continuing education credits.

Advocate for the inclusion of Chinese herbal medicine into the scope of practice of those qualified to practice herbs by maintaining a strong legislative presence.
